【014】Winter Wonderland My Favorite Place
My Pop surprised me when I discovered this fountain in the backyard.
There are also wind chimes and a wide variety of plants. My backyard is my favorite place in Oceanside. It's quiet, beautiful and we can even see the sunset from there. Many birds visit, as well! At night, it lights up with a gentle glow.
■Japanese fountain
■Oceanside illumination.
In the USA, we love our own illumination style. Every house is different. Here is a condo in my hometown.
■Bellagio lobby. It was gorgeous!
■This is the lobby of Caesars Palace, across from the Bellagio.
■Bellagio View
this is the view from our room in the Bellagio. You can see the fountain show and Paris hotel in front. The show is synchronized to music wired to the rooms. It was romantic.
■ Las Vegas Sweets.
The food in Las Vegas is cheap because they use it to intice gamblers. When you're full, you gamble more because you can't move. And these dessets look nice but taste bad. We just took a picture and had to throw them away. Looks can be deceiving.
■X'mas Tree home
■ Christmas stocking- (not socks)
My mother is the Queen of the Xmas stocking. She buys many presents to stuff in the stockings and these items are very useful. My grandmother used to send us small presents from Back East with the words "stocking" written on them.
Some Japanese call them Xmas socks but socks stink and stockings don't! So don't call them socks. Like some Japanese call cream puff shy cream but shoe cream is for shining shoes, not eating.
The history of Xmas stockings is interesting. Check it out! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_stocking#History
Christmas Tree home:
My family always puts up a BIG Xmas tree. It makes the house smell great but it is said to kill a tree but recently we can buy living Xmas trees and plant them after putting them up. I like this idea, best, but it's expensive. http://WNW.livingchristmastrees.com/
Now my family uses an artificial tree. At my school, I use a fake tree as well. I tired a real tree one year but throwing that away was difficult.

■Mom & Dad
■Mom Having a good time with M and M's.
We went to Las Vegas M and Ms world and bought a lot of souvenirs. As a result, we got four dispensers pictured in the photo. You can even personalize your own candies! http://www.mymms.com/ to space between Mom and Dad.
■San Diego Bay
We took a cruise under the Coronado bridge for our winter vacation and watched the Holiday Bowl parade. If you look carefully at the flags in the photo, they are flags of the American football teams playing in the Holiday Bowl that year(Arizona State University Sundevils vs. Texas Longhorns ) .

■Todd in Toontown
My wife is a stockholder of Oriental Land, so she gets free tickets to Disneyland. We went in the winter of 2008. I bought a Tiger hat because I was surprised how cold it was. I met Mickey Mouse, and rowed in the canoes for the first time.
■This is Macao.
Macao is a mix of East and West. I had a negative image of this place but it was much better than I expected, full of history and adventure. It's a good place top to visit on a stop over flight. Hong Kong's airport is the best in Asia, convenient, clean, and not far from the city. This is a photo of the queen and king of Portugal, which colonized Macao in the 16th century. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Macau#Portuguese_settlement
■Bali Parasail
I've been to Bali, twice. Marine sports in Bali are cheap and safe. $30 an hour. The view from the top is great. We tried parasailing, water skiing, snorkeling, and banana boating. Bali is the best!
